My facial toner of choice for the past two years is still a staple in my skincare routine to date. Touting acne curing capabilities, I use it daily after cleansing my face to ensure my face is squeaky clean. Trying my best to keep the acne at bay. I don’t see myself giving it up anytime soon. For more of my thoughts on witch hazel check out my Winter Skincare Regimen post.
Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Mask
Like my witch hazel toner, this product has been with me for years I took a break from it while I tested out the turmeric mask but I’m back. I’ve used it every week since the start of 2019 and I don’t know why I ever stopped (probably got lazy/too busy). Whatever the reason, this is the best mask I’ve owned and I’ll be using restocking it soon. If you struggle with blackheads or enlarged pores it’s the perfect mask for you.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
Years ago I had the opportunity to try this foundation. It wasn’t mine though and I was young and buying makeup wasn’t a priority for me. But last year my mom bought me a bottle of this foundation and I fell in love. It absorbs into the skin well. My skin hasn’t had any adverse reaction to it and it’s the closest foundation match I’ve had my whole life. Finally, all is well with the world, I’ve found my match! whenever this bottle runs out I’ll definitely be buying another. I also want to try out the Fenty f
Creme of Nature: Argan Oil Sulfate- Free Shampoo
My ride or die. For a while, I took a break from it to go an all-natural route and boy did it take a toll on me. Wash days literally meant wash days because it took that long. But now wash days are as easy as they’re ever going to get with my head of hair. It not only cleanses but it makes my hair incredibly soft and manageable. Check out the Sally Beauty link above if you’d like to make a purchase. Or, you can find it any local pharmacy or wholesale.
Cantu Coconut Curling Creme
This one comes with a funny story. I’ve been recommending this product to guys before i actually tried it on myself. I know, I know how could I recommend a product i never tried but I promise their hair loved it. So last year I finally gave it a try. Took the plunge and bought a jar and I’ve bought many other jars since. What can I say? My hair loves the stuff and I wish I started using it sooner. One thing’s sure, I’ll be using it for a long time.
You can also find this product at Sally’s or at a local wholesale. The local pharmacies will charge you way more than it is worth.
Shea Moisture JBCO Strengthen & Restore Treatment Masque
Well, that was a mouthful. This is my favourite, favourite. Talk about a moisturizing deep conditioner. My hair is like butter after sitting with it on my hair for a few hours without heat. It can way shorter with a heated cap or steamer. For me, I just let y natural body heat open up my hair follicles. Here’s a tip: If You really want to get the heat going in your deep conditioning session through on some workout clothes and do some cardio. As your body temperature rises, the heat will be trapped beneath your conditioning cap thus speeding up your conditioning time. There you have it healthy body and healthy hair all in one go.
I have a few more favourites to share with you. I’ll continue with a part 2 on Wednesday and next week, I’ll talk about the products my body and hair hated in 2018.
